To blog or not to blog? That is the question. Should I blog on a boutique business site? I never thought of it before it was recommended to me, and at first, I thought, I am definitely no journalist! But after doing some research, all the answers I found pointed to yes! So, here I am, giving you my very first blog post.
I decided to incorporate a blog page for Sweet PEA & Me Boutique to build connections between myself, my customers, and all fashionistas alike. Momtrepreneurs are welcome as well because, as you get to know me (Stephanie), the mama behind SPMB, you’ll see that I am a mama on a money-making mission.

A Little About Me
My name is Stephanie. I’m in my mid-thirties, born and raised in Small Town, Alabama, where I still live. I love small-town life—but that's a conversation for another day. I’m a wife to Darrin and a mom to Prinston (8), Elijah (4), and Annalise (almost 2—her birthday is 2/23!). They are my entire world and the reason behind everything I do—literally the PEA in Sweet PEA & Me Boutique.

My career history is mostly in property management, but I’ve also worked in cabinet and automotive manufacturing and, most recently, in consumer lending. (Whatever pays the bills, right?) I have been working hard since I was 17, and with each child I had, I became more eager to break away from the 9-to-5+ life and gain the freedom and flexibility to be there for my kids. Because no, I’m not trying to miss a thing! That’s what led me here—to the creation of Sweet PEA & Me Boutique.
How It Started
By November 2023, I had been a SAHM (stay-at-home mom) for almost two years. While my husband was managing the bills for the most part, we definitely needed more income. My mind went into overdrive, searching for ways I could make money to support my family without committing to a 40+ hour workweek. I found a quick and inexpensive way to start a small business, and I chose the fashion industry because:
1. I’ve always had a passion for fashion.
2. There are plenty of suppliers.
3. Everyone needs clothes, right?!
